Abstract
To continue to live not only longer but also healthier is the aim of all individuals. But do people actually work towards fulfilling these aims? It has been said that everyday many (of us) mortgage long-term health with the type of lifestyle that we lead today. Why do such situations exists and what are the ways of overcoming this? A solution towards solving the above is by introducing health risk assessments (HRA) - a scientific methodology of turning intuitive knowledge into measurable odds. Knowing this risk in turn will facilitate healthcare practitioners to offer personalised recommendations for improving health and well-being. HRAs have a significant role to play in healthcare but the challenges that comes with its implementation are many. This paper attempts to address some of the main issues at hand.
